From Bridal fairs to our very first Wedding Gift

 

My friends’ first suggestion when they learned that I’m getting married is to plan ahead and consider attending wedding fair, a gathering of hundreds of suppliers, couturier, caterers, wedding venues and just anything about wedding. 

As of this writing we attended three (3) bridal fairs, one at the NBC Tent, Themes & Motif at SMX and bridal fair with fashion show at Marriott Manila. It was a big help as I got inspirations and ideas from them, from wedding venue/ceremony, reception to caterer.

Bridal fair provides couples the opportunity to meet suppliers, designers, ask for good price and discounts. Walking at every pasilio, browsing every bridal gown gives more excitement to the upcoming celebration. I don’t even know which stall should I go first. It was fun and overwhelming. Perhaps, I should suggest what to expect and what you need to do going to a bridal fair. Here are some of them:

• Expect a huge crowd specially when scheduled during weekends and during the late afternoon.
• There’s a minimal entrance fee but I believe there are merchants who give away passes/tickets. In fact, during our visit at Glass Garden, they gave us five tickets for the Themes & Motifs Bridal fair. Jonel and I were coming so we decided to give the remaining three tickets to others.

• There are stalls offering their food to taste. It’s okay to try them! 
• Expect to bring home a  lot of flyers; take time to read them one by one, who knows you already got what you need.
• From wide range of designs you would probably have a hard time choosing what you want, take time but also take note that discounts and promos are usually given during the fair only. It may sounds stressful that you need to decide immediately just to get discounts and freebies.

A day before the bridal fair, one of our friend and a fellow blogger invited us to attend the launch of Golden Hills Jewelry. With their name, you would know what the company offers. Since we’re really going to the bridal fair, we thought it would just be fine to attend a short event and go to the fair right after the coverage. .

Goldenhills Jewelry is one of the merchants of Themes & Motifs Bridal Fair. They recently launched new sets of wedding arrhae - these are unity coins symbolizing the groom’s ability to support the bride. I was surprised that there are new form of arrhae, Golden Hills call it “Endless Treasures”.  Available in gold, silver and two-tone.

We were delighted when they gave a set of silver wedding arrhae as a token of appreciation for attending the launch. You can just imagine how happy I am to receive our first “wedding gift”! Now, we don’t have to buy for wedding arrhae anymore. Most of all we were very happy having these  “Endless Treasure” virtues. It’s not just ordinary wedding arrhae, we can even put them in a frame together with our wedding photo and hang it on the wall. As the years passed by, we will celebrate our anniversaries by revisiting the virtues that will keep us together. Thank you Golden Hills for this wonderful gift!

I would like to end this post with a reminder. A pastor friend told us that it is not only the wedding that we should be preparing but the marriage, the life long of togetherness as husband and wife with God in the middle of the relationship.
